Yes, WhatsApp finally gets the long awaited dark mode update but, it’s only available for Android users so, iPhone users need to wait a little bit more. Of course, on knowing the feature is available you must have dashed to the settings to activate it. Well, it’s not as easy as it looks.
First of, it’s available only for the latest beta version, of course the beta version is already available on Google Play. Those already on the beta user list should get the update automatically, if you have not signed yet and, can’t wait for the official full launch then sign right now and become a beta user to use the dark mode.
Till now user’s used third-party apps and certain tricks to activate dark mode on their devices but, then again they worked only on the web version (at least that’s to my knowledge). Now that’s history. Anyways, the main point- how to enable dark mode on your Android:
- Click on the three little dots in the upper right of your app and tap on settings > Chats Submenu
- Theme Section > select Dark
Now was that easy or what. If you face the phone screen a lot then dark mode is great for your eyes (though scientists don’t really agree on this), nevertheless the strain is less as per personal experience. For those using iOS, relax cause the update shall roll out soon for you guys as well!
