Jemma Reekie continued her winning spree into the 2020 as she won the 1500 meters Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Glasgow. The 21-year-old has already broken three British indoor records in February and gave an exhilarating performance at the final lap overtaking Ethiopian Dawit Seyaum on the home front finishing in four minutes 4.07 seconds.
Though the time didn’t pose threat to the British records set by her last weekend, as it was three-and-a-half seconds less- the Scot did show impressive determination.
She said at certain places she had to get her elbows out to get a few points but that’s what middle-distance racing is all about. She also said as she’s still learning to gain confidence it’s good what she achieved. She confirmed having hopes to beat her own record but is OK with the win as well.
Another British success was in the women’s 400m race as Jesse Knight won with a time of 51.57 seconds.
