Philippines has decided to end US troops agreement

Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte has long threatened to move away from his country’s long-term ally and pivot towards China. His foreign secretary tweeted that official notice had been given on the Visiting Forces Agreement. That notice starts a 180-day period until the agreement lapses.

The Philippines has officially declared to the United States that it is improving a security pact allowing the forces of the United States to train and participate in the joint exercises there and the president has Bean thinking of moving away from long term ally and take it towards China Mr. Teddy Locsin Jr. “The Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the United States has received the notice of termination of the Visiting Forces Agreement. As a diplomatic courtesy, there will be no further factual announcements following this self-explanatory development”
