The excitement for receiving dark mode update on for WhatsApp was and is highly awaited. But, looks like you’ll have to wait a bit more for it to really roll-out.
The dark mode has been the talk of the town for the past year. Labeled as one of the most sought out feature, though in its last stage of beta, still lacks some work, according to the app fans. As the name implies, the dark mode shall invert the color theme. Which, most of the popular applications like Google (Android 10) are embracing as well. The mode is said to conserve the battery and soothe the eyes as well, though studies don’t agree.
So, what’s wrong? Well, the dark is not really dark. It’s rather a combination of grey and dark green with text in white. The background for chat icon is light green, same goes with the status and call icons. As for the top bar, it’s a very dark grey, which doesn’t blend with the theme as it tilts towards the green palette a bit too much.
Compared to Twitter and Instagram, WhatsApp Dark Mode needs more work, rest let’s hope by the time it passes the beta mode, it’s the dark mode we are waiting for.
